Jim Spencer is credited with the concept of establishing a volunteer program for the Boy Scouts and other groups as far back as 1972. He was very active with the Mountain and the Forest Service. Here he is seen with Mike McIntyre, the Forest Archeologist. Unfortunately, Jim became inactive in the last few years due to Alzeheimer's Disease and passed away last year.
